and see the quality of our work. Secondary Glazing The fastest growing sector
of our business is Secondary Glazing - and whilst other Suppliers have come &
gone, we have consistently maintained a strong presence with this product.
Secondary Glazing is eminently suited to London with its' unique blend of
Historic, Period, Modern, City, Suburban, High-Rise and Traditional Residential
& Commercial properties. Add to this the increasing number of properties
that are subject to Conservation Area or Listed Building Status or that are Leasehold
or Joint Freehold, with limitations as to how Windows & Doors can be renewed,
and Secondary Glazing really comes into its' own! Our commitment to
Secondary Glazing as a product through the years has led us to respond to the
demands of discerning customers for a system that is not only effective,
but that is also stylish & discreet,
matching in with modern surrounds and décor as easily as it blends into a traditional
timber Sash Window or an Elizabethan Metal Casement with Leaded Lights.
The Design Criteria for our Secondary Glazing Range has been for products that
are Robust & Functional, as well as Complementary & Unobtrusive once installed.
Every property is different. We take care to specify the correct
Secondary Glazing units, ensuring that the original sight lines are not disturbed,
lining up vertical & horizontal sections, ensuring easy access for both opening
the primary windows and cleaning all glass surfaces internally & externally.
Our Concealed Fixing System & a wide range of Moulded Finish Sections are
used to achieve a perfect finish. Heat Insulation Where the
original windows are essentially sound but not up to modern standards of thermal
insulation, our Secondary Glazing provides an economical solution that is the
equal of modern Double Glazing, without affecting the exterior façade of the property.
Noise Reduction
For reducing the increasing Noise Pollution that our modern society produces
- there is no other single product that comes close to the performance of our
Secondary Glazing Acoustic Range. Security
An additional benefit of Secondary Double Glazing is that it provides increased
security. Product Range We have a comprehensive range of
styles to suit just about any application.

your internal colour scheme & decoration. Listed Buildings & Conservation
Areas Secondary Glazing is particularly suitable for Listed Buildings
and Conservation Areas where it may be inappropriate, prohibitively expensive
or where permission has been or may be refused to replace the original windows.
Listed Building and Conservation Area Planning Officers generally welcome
the idea of Secondary Glazing and for most instances Planning Permission is not
required. Treatment of the Existing Windows when Installing Secondary
Glazing When fitting Secondary Glazing the existing original windows should
not be sealed up or fitted with draught excluders. Doing so makes very
little difference to the overall Thermal & Noise Insulation Ratings and could
create a Condensation Trap. Well sealed Secondary Glazing ensures that
no draughts enter the property whilst the average primary window will allow sufficient
ventilation of the space between the two layers of glass to avoid condensation
forming. Where the existing primary windows are already double glazed
or are very well sealed then we may recommend ventilating the cavity to avoid
condensation. |
